THE CARSELAND LIONS CLUB has been an important contributor to this community for 62 years. The current Carseland Fire Hall, Recreation Center, Community Hall and Ball Diamonds may not exist without the support and hundreds of volunteer hours this group has given to the community. The Lions have historically been one of the first groups approached whenever funding and assistance is needed for many Community projects.
Currently there are 28 active members who volunteer their time to help raise money through various activities such as the Annual BBQ, Valentine Gala, Casino fundraiser and Community Auction. Additional functions such as our Men’s Steak Fry in June, a Ladies Steak Fry in July as well as visits with other Lions Clubs, which are called Inter-club visitations, showcase the level of activity this group maintains both within and outside of the community.
The Lions Club meets the needs of our local communities and the world. Lions Club International is the world’s largest service club organization with 1.3 million members in 45,000 clubs in 202 countries and geographical areas.
The club holds a dinner meeting of the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm and a regular meeting on the third Tuesday at 8:00 pm. These meetings are used to plan and donate our time and money to various projects and organizations. New members are always welcome so come and join us in helping to build a strong local community!
