About

Our Legacy on the Land

Welcome to Carseland, Alberta — a charming hamlet with a rich history that dates back to the late 1800s! Once a hub for pioneering cattlemen like Major General Thomas Bland Strange, Carseland grew thanks to the Canadian Pacific Railway and the introduction of irrigation. From the days of vast ranches to thriving grain farms, the community flourished, boasting six grain elevators, bustling businesses, and a strategic railway link during World War I. While only a few original buildings from 1916 remain, Carseland’s legacy of resilience, growth, and small-town spirit continues to captivate visitors and locals alike.
